This morning’s headline

Flood water greeted us yesterday morning in our ground floor. It’s the first time we experienced such thing. The weather bureau said that it dumped “nearly a month’s worth of rain in one day.” The sala, kitchen and my sister’s room got knee deep water. Appliances were elevated, documents and other important stuff were secured and the electricity was turned off. We listened to news advisory and kept in touch with our friends and family. We made sure that we were ready to evacuate the place anytime. The flood subsided but the rain continued to pour like hell. Around five in the afternoon, we decided to take the kids to another place and stayed there overnight. We came back this morning knowing we have a lot of things to do.

The flood was caused by the southwest monsoon and tropical storm “Maring”. Click here for Weather Philippines’ Typhoon Preparedness Guide.
