About Jules

Thirty-Nine Things about Her

1. She is a mother of two young boys named Uno and Jed. Her friends asked her why Jed is not called Dos. She answered, “So there won’t be Tres, Cuatro, Cinco.”

2. She is a gradeschool teacher. Currently posted at J. Sumulong Elem. School, DepEd-Pasay City. 

3. She was born in Baclaran, Paranaque City. Was raised in Cavite, Paranaque, Pasay and lived for three months in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.

4. Here late father was Jose M. Timuat. Her mother is Encarnacion O. Timuat. They raised her as a responsible adult but sometimes she acts like a child.

5. She has five sisters and one brother. And also has five nieces and two nephews. She doesn’t own any pet but she wants to have an aquarium someday with a fish named Cardinal.

6. She is a Leo, a lion. Born in the Year of the Monkey in August 11, 19__. :-) These animals are present in her personality. Sometimes.

7. She attended a preschool class in a day care before she spent her first four years in gradeschool in San Gabriel Elem. School in GMA, Cavite then the rest in Baclaran Central Elem. School. She graduated in secondary from Lacson College in Pasay City.

8. She took a course in BS Elementary Education from the Philippine Normal University and in this institution she realized that she was born to teach.

9. Her specializations were Social Studies and Pre-School Education but in the field when when she was hired, she was not able to practice them.

10. She wears ultra-thin eye glasses because she is nearsighted and astigmatic. Without her glasses she is hopeless.

11. She loves books. Especially bargain books. She used to answer the AMBITION part in an autograph book this way: To read all the books in the library of God.

12. She is currently reading nine books and one of them is Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment. She is still on its forty-fourth page.

13. Five of her favorite books are To Kill A Mockingbird, The Catcher in the Rye, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Blind Assassin and The Alchemist.

14. She admires people who knows how to inspire and make a difference in other people’s lives.

15. She commutes daily from Cavite to Pasay City and vice versa. Every trip takes her two hours. While travelling in the morning in jeepneys, she listens to RX 93.1 Monster Radio’s Morning Rush with Chicko and Dell. Going home at night she takes the bus and she watches the news in bus’ TV set. If it is on.

16. She loves the sea especially sunset but can’t swim.

17. She is right handed, knows how to use chopsticks, can use the Speedball for Old English style calligraphy and her official handwriting is printed and not cursive.

18. When she was a kid, her favorite TV shows were Sesame Street, Voltes V, Mazinger Z and Sine sa Siete. She also grew up watching Little House on the Prairie, Charlie’s Angels, Wonder Woman and Million Dollar Man.

19. Her favorite cartoon characters are Bugs Bunny and Snoopy. Comic book character: Catwoman. Locally, its Darna and Galema.

20. She used to highlight the interesting lines of the book[s] that she’s reading. But now, she just fold the lower part of the page and use her thumb finger nail to mark the lines.

21. Her favorite colors are red, orange and blue. If there is such thing as favorite shape, hers would be circle.

22. She has a Friendster account [www.friendster.com/julescatron] and her YM handle is jtescatron.

23. She loves movies about teaching and education. Her favorite is Dead Poet Society. The last teacher-student movie that she saw was History Boys.

24. When she was a kid, she wanted to be an architect or a female cop.

25. She can’t dance but she can carry a tune.

26. She knows basic HTML, webpage design and desktop publishing. But now she’s just into blogging.

27. Cooking is not her favorite activity and prefers to wash the dishes. But she has an online cooking instructor. They are still on the first lesson.

28. Aside from darts and volleyball, she competed in no other sports.

29. She is kind of aloof but she is friendly once you get to know her.

30. She listens to different kinds of music.

31. She loves reading the poems of Emily Dickinson. She likes to memorize the lines of Juliet Capulet but until now, she’s still in “Romeo, my Romeo, wherefore art thou oh Romeo..” Now, she’s into Francisco Balagtas’ Florante at Laura “… Sa loob at labas ng bayan kong sawi..”

32. She believes that nothing in this life is easy to get. One has to work hard in order to achieve something. But unless you’re Prince William, its another story.

33. She thinks technology brings people closer but one has to be careful in choosing friends in cyberspace and blogosphere.

34. She believes that we seal our fate by the choices we make. Just like the classic Pepsi ads.

35. Her favorite quote is “Carpe Diem” or “Seize the Day.” From ‘Dead Poet Society”

36. She seldom watches TV but when she does, she prefers Brothers and Sisters, CSI, and Bubble Gang.

37. At the end of the day, she looks forward to the sweet embrace of his two sons. They are her source of pride and inspiration.

38. She believes that family, friends, good education, satisfying work, positive attitude/outlook in life and strong faith in God make a difference in a person’s life.

39. Her favorite MS-Word keyboard combination is shift+F and she says THANK YOU for reading all these. :-)
